Peacemaker s1 HBO Max
I did not have any expectations about Peacemaker but decided to try it out because I had heard and read good things about the show. Still, I was cautious, because I did not know what the DC had in store for me. The characters also were not the ones I knew the most from DC and Peacemaker was not the one for my liking either. I am glad to report that the series surprised me in a good way.
We could not skip the intro to the show ever because it was that hilarious. Peacemaker also had a great cast all around. Cena carried the leading role like a pro and the others as well. Most of them were new faces that I had not seen before. Everyone succeeded in their comedic timing but also the serious parts were not hard. I actually like Peacemaker, his Eagly and the rest of the crazy bunch a lot. Peacemaker’s father is quite the character and right up the alley for Robert Patrick.
The music was great! The songs they were using and there was a lot of them, really pulled you in to the story and all of them made you smile. I guess we know now what taste James Gunn has in music. The special effects they used were great and I could not see any fault in them. They were pretty standard for superhero shows but some were very good. The fights were very brutal among other things and you could clearly notice what age restriction the series has. They did not pull any punches with that.

En odottanut mitään Peacemakerilta, mutta päätin silti katsoa sen, koska olin kuullut ja lukenut sarjasta hyvää. Silti olin rauhallisen optimistinen, koska en tiennyt, mitä DC:llä olisi luvassa minun varalleni. Hahmot eivät myöskään olleet sieltä DC:n tunnetuimmasta päästä ja Peacemaker ei nyt ainakaan ollut ensimmäinen vaihtoehtoni niistä, joita haluaisin tuntea paremmin. Olen kuitenkin iloinen voidessani kertoa, että sarja yllätti minut hyvällä tavalla.
Sarjan intro oli hauskin, jonka olen koskaan nähnyt, joten emme koskaan hypänneet sen yli. Peacemakerin näyttelijäkaarti oli vertaansa vailla. Cena kantoi pääroolia kuin ammattilainen ja samoin myös loput näyttelijät. Suurin osa heistä ei ollut minulle ennestään tuttuja. Heistä kaikki onnistuivat sarjan komediallisissa osuuksissa, mutta myös vakavat kohtaukset eivät olleet heille vaikeita. Itse pidin paljon Peacemakerista, hänen Eaglystaan ja muista hänen hullusta porukastaan. Peacemakerin isä oli kyllä aikamoinen hahmo ja sopi hyvin Robert Patrickin näyttelemäksi.
Musiikki oli mahtava! Kappaleet, joita he käyttivät ja joita oli paljon, vetivät minut tarinaan hyvin mukaan ja ne kaikki saivat minut hymyilemään. Taidammepa nyt tietää, mikä musiikkimaku James Gunnilla on. Sarjan erikoistehosteet olivat mahtavia, enkä nähnyt niissä mitään vikaa. Ne olivat supersankarisarjojen tasoisia, jotkut jopa olivat erittäin hyviä. Taistelut olivat erittäin raakoja ja niissä oli selvästi nähtävissä mikä ikärajoitus sarjassa on. Peacemakerissa annettiin palaa oikein kunnolla.
