Moon Knight Disney+

The fifth Marvel series I watched was Moon Knight. You could say that I was waiting for this series like to the rising moon. And the series did not disappoint. I was intrigued by the previews and the Egyptian influence it seemed to have. I am a sucker for all things Egyptian and I wanted to be an archeologist because of that when I was young. The world building was so well made with the Egyptian lore and mental health issues that… I just awed.

The cast was also good, very good but Oscar Isaac man… He stole the show. That was magnificent performance. But May and Ethan were not far behind. They killed it. May was someone totally new to my radar so she surprised me the most, but Hawk as Harrow was almost as big surprise. I did not know he had this in him. All the characters had their own backstory and depth. Even the other characters that were made with CGI had character in them. Some were sweet and others were terrifying enough.

It was interesting how the Egyptian theme flowed also to the music which was totally different than what I am used to. Still, it was great and fit the series well. The Moon Knight instrumental music you can’t forget. The special effects were great with all the Egyptian themes and the normal superhero ones. I think they were used a lot but still everything looked so real. And the practical effects too. I enjoyed the combined effect. Over all, I liked everything in this series and I am so sad if we got only one season.

Moon Knight oli viides katsomani Marvel-sarja. Voisi sanoa, että odotin tätä sarjaa kuin kuuta nousevaa. Ja sarja oli parempi kuin edes osasin odottaa. Sitä enemmän kiinnostuin, mitä enemmän näin sarjan mainoksia ja sen egyptiläisiä vaikutteita. Pidän egyptin muinaishistoriasta, ja siksi jo nuorena halusin arkeologiksi. Sarjan maailmanrakennus oli todella hyvin tehty egyptiläisiä perinteitä kunnioittaen ja samalla yhdistäen siihen mielenterveysongelmien kanssa painimista… Yllätyin täysin.

Näyttelijät tekivät erittäin hyvää työtä, mutta Oscar Isaac… Hän varasti koko shown. Aivan upea suoritus. Silti May ja Ethan seurasivat hyvin Isaacin kannoilla hahmoillansa. He osuivat nappiin. May oli minulle täysin uusi tuttavuus, joten hän yllätti minut eniten. Hawk Harrowna oli silti melkein yhtä suuri yllätys. En tiennyt, että hän pystyisi esittämään tällaista hahmoa. Kaikilla sarjan hahmoilla oli oma taustatarinansa ja ne olivat syvällisiä. Jopa erikoisefekteillä tehdyissä hahmoissa oli luonnetta. Jotkut olivat hellyttäviä ja toiset tarpeeksi pelottavia.

Egyptiläinen teema soljui myös mielenkiintoisesti sarjan musiikkiin, joka oli täysin erilaista kuin mihin olen tottunut. Erilaisuudesta huolimatta se sopi hyvin sarjaan. Moon Knightin tunnusomainen instrumentaalimusiikki oli mieleenpainuvaa. Erikoistehosteiden egyptiläiset teemat ja supersankarisarjojen perinteiset toimivat. Luulisin, että tehosteita oli sarjassa paljon, vaikkakin ne näyttivät todella aidoilta. Sarjassa oli myös perinteisiä erikoistehoisteita, joiden yhteisvaikutuksesta nautin. Kaiken kaikkiaan pidin joka asiasta tässä sarjassa ja olen suruissani, jos toista kautta ei tule.
